Fight Center located in Irvine, California (Orange County) utilize many different grappling arts like Catch Wrestling (Hooking) to make our students a more well rounded martial arts practitioner. Hooking or now some call Catch Wrestling, are submission tactics developed for no-holds-barred fighting. This type of fighting incorporates defense against all the illegal tactics like: eye gouging, hair pulling, fish hooking, poking, pinching etc... Hooking teaches on to control an opponent, concentrating on balance, leverage, and technique to control one’s opponent and ultimately hook him or submit him. Controlling your opponent is more than just holding them down. A hooking practitioner in controlling their opponent is able to make them do what ever they want them to.

Hooking or Catch Wrestling teaches the practitioner how to efficiently, effectively and most of all quickly devastate and defeat their opponent.

Hooking is not based on size and strength. Its focus is towards technique, precision, speed, power vs. force and the ability to use any part of your opponent’s body to submit them. Hooking or Catch Wrestling is not a sport and was developed with few rules. Most of the techniques are vicious and debilitating if not can cause death.

Hooking more than just wrestling it equally puts focus on stand-up fighting more with elbows and knees, fish-hooks, gouging and striking transitioning into devastating throws and submissions to facilitate win in the altercation.
